The mission of the Wausau middle school is to provide a comprehensive educational program in a safe and nurturing environment appropriate to the emotional, intellectual, social, and physical needs of adolescents.
 

BELIEF STATEMENTS

WE BELIEVE THAT MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS:

    - need supportive family environment and positive adult role models

    -  need to develop a positive self-image

    - need to develop understanding, appreciation and respect for individual
        differences

    - need to have support, encouragement, and the opportunity to explore and
        diversify

    - need a safe environment

    - need parental involvement in the students’ education

    - need to be provided with opportunities and recognition for success

    - need structure, consistency and accountability for their academic, social and behavior growth

    - need to develop an acceptance and awareness of their own and others
        emotional, intellectual, social, and physical development

    - need positive social relationships

    - need to have opportunities to develop visions for their futures

    - need to view themselves as contributors to what happens in their lives

We believe that all students can learn.
