PTO Officers: Marion Vehlow - President & Treasurer Julie Ganski - Vice President Connie Case - Secretary Parents have historically played a strong role in Grant School. The PTO and Mother's Club were established in 1921. The Grant School PTO remains an active organization in the Grant School community. The Site Council was established in 1995 and was heavily involved in framing the mission and vision, in goal-setting and in evaluation. This year, the Site Council is merged with the PTO as they continue working with the parents, staff and students. These groups have joined to continue Grant School’s strong tradition of support for students and staff. This support takes the form of fundraising activities that result in purchases not funded through the school's budget. Digital cameras for student use, the fourth grade field trip to Madison, a laser printer and tickets for the entire school to attend the ballet are some of the PTO’s purchases during the past several years. Last year, the PTO held a Spring Carnival and a Sock Hop. Each month, the PTO honors Grant School's ABOVE THE LINE Stars through a bulletin board which features the pictures of students identified as using model behavior and small gifts. Other students receive prizes provided by PTO as they receive Tuesday Tickets for exhibiting appropriate school behavior in both our formal and informal settings. The Grant School PTO/Site Council meets on the first Monday of every month from 6:30-7:30 PM. All parents are welcome. Come join us! |
