An
AD HOC POLICY & RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE MEETING of the
Board of Education was held on Monday, December 4, 2006, in the Nicholson Board
Room at the Longfellow Administration Center, 415 Seymour Street, Wausau WI.
The meeting had been properly publicized in compliance with the Wisconsin Open
Meeting Law.
Present: Kathleen Grant, Chair; Dale Lawson, Keith Montgomery, and Robb Shepherd.
Also Present: Board Member, Patrick Keefe; Board Member, John Ostertag; Superintendent of Schools, Stephen Murley; Assistant Superintendent for Business, Cherna Gorder; Director of Human Resources & Employee Relations, Jeff Gress; and Deputy Clerk, Amy Arlen.
I. CALL
MEETING TO ORDER
Grant
presided and called the meeting to order at 5:33 PM.
II. APPROVAL
OF MINUTES
Shepherd
moved to approve the minutes of November 6, 2006, seconded by Lawson. Motion carried.
III. WASDA’S
“ONE VOICE, ONE FUTURE” INITIATIVE
Murley
reported that WASDA has backed away from this initiative due to backlash from
WASB and other school districts.
IV. REVIEW
DELEGATE ASSEMBLY RESOLUTIONS
The resolutions were reviewed, and
Murley explained the process for voting on resolutions at the Delegate
Assembly.
V. POLICY
3610 – YELLOW BUS RIDER RULES
Shepherd moved that Policy 3610 – Yellow
Bus Rider Rules be forwarded to the Board for first reading at the December
Board Meeting, seconded by Lawson. Motion carried.
VI. POLICY
3310 – STOCKLESS INVENTORY
Administration recommends that Policy
3310 – Stockless Inventory be deleted from the Policy Manual and be
relegated to an administrative guideline.
Shepherd moved that Policy 3310 – Stockless
Inventory be forwarded to the Board for first reading (deletion of policy)
at the December Board meeting, seconded by Lawson. Motion carried.
Keefe arrived at 6:03 PM.
VII. SCHOOL
FACTS DATA
Murley reviewed the School Facts data.
He noted that the District looks more like other urban school districts when
compared to area school districts.

moved to adjourn, seconded by Lawson.
Motion carried at 6:33 PM.
