Welcome to the Maine PTO site.
The goal of the Maine PTO is to provide additional educational opportunities to our students. In the time of budget cuts, PTO is an essential component to enhancing our students’ educational experiences. Our Maine school PTO funds transportation for field trips, brings in various programs for in house assemblies, gives teachers monies for the extras in their classrooms (rewards, treats, supplies, etc.), pays for snacks on some field trips, and special requests by teachers, just to name a few.
Over the last two years PTO has been able to purchase several of the Smart boards that are now in the classrooms at Maine. If you don’t know what a Smart board is get into your child’s classroom. It is amazing how this technology can enhance student learning.
This year we hope to continue all the great things that we provide our students with here at Maine. We can’t do it without wonderful parents like all of you. We are asking for you to get involved and help enhance those educational opportunities that are provided to our students and help support our awesome teachers.
Our first meeting is Tuesday, September 6 from 6:30 – 7:30. (We will really try to keep our meetings to one hour.)
The agenda for our first will include the following items:
Review of our current fund raising events
Cherry Dale Farms – similar to Mr. Zs fund raiser from years past – Sept. 23 – Oct. 7
Meat Sale – Steak, Pork and Chicken sale – April 2012
Chili Supper – Nov 5, 2011
Other items we will discuss:
Maine Moves (an initiative to get our kids moving and staying healthy).
Maine School Spirit Apparel – when will orders go out, and items we would like to see offered.
We hope to see you at our PTO meetings, because when our organization can support the Maine School students and staff great things can happen for our students.
