Wes Little Nature Trail

Hewitt-Texas School suffered a great loss with the passing of Mr. Wes Little, our custodian for 19 years. Mr. Little was a kind, gentle, hard-working man who was well-loved by both the children and staff. He loved to joke around and was famous for his love of sweets…especially donuts!

In honor of Mr. Little, Hewitt-Texas School, in conjunction with Wausau East, developed the "Wes Little Nature Trail" on our school property. This trail will be a memorial that will serve our students and the community for many years to come.

We are hoping that schools throughout the district, as well as the community, will come "experience the trail!"

An addition to the Wes Little Nature Trail has been made. Click here to learn about the Hansen Learning Center.

In the spring of 2007, Boy Scout Troop 427, under the direction of Robert Walters, Life Scout- and supervised by Henry Walters, our head custodian at Hewitt-Texas, made an addition to the Nature Trail. Below are pictures of the Eagle Scout project taken during the expansion of the trail.
