Wausau East High School Environmental Science students, with their instructor Mr. Bruce Maata, collaborated with the Hewitt-Texas Elementary students by doing environmental lessons and projects in the classroom and Hewitt-Texas School Wetland/Nature Trail area on December 21, 2009.

The purpose of this collaboration was to gain an understanding of our wetland area during the winter. Activities included chemical testing of the pond, recognizing animal tracks, observing winter plant life, as well as nature-related games and classroom activities.
